Changelog
Changes you can see in the app, newest first. Internal work (tests, deploy plumbing, analytics) is left out. Dates are when the change was finished. Everything below was checked against the code running on 28 September 2026. Two things were checked another way: the checkout split runs inside Shopify, and the prices come from the App Store listing.
Several entries are fixes, and two of them were serious. For about a month the Create bundle screen didn't open. For five days in September, bundle stock stopped updating. They're written down plainly, because a stock number you can't trust is worse than no number.
27 September 2026
A store behind its password page no longer fails the health check. While your storefront is password-protected, shoppers can't reach any product in it. From 14 September, when the visibility check started asking for a page in your online store, the health check counted that against every bundle and marked it FAILED. Now the bundles list shows Not checked, with a line under it saying the check will run once the store is open. The price and stock checks still run, and a real fault there still shows as FAILED.
26 September 2026
Fixed: some bundle orders didn't take stock off the components. The checkout normally splits a bundle into its components, and Shopify takes the stock off each one. When an order lists the bundle product itself instead, the app takes the stock off the components. From 9 until 26 September, Shopify rejected that step, so those orders left the components untouched. That's 17 days. It works again. If Shopify sends the same order notification twice, the stock now comes off once.
24 September 2026
A multi-pack of one product is a bundle now. A five-pack of one product used to be refused. The form wanted at least two components. That rule was mine, not Shopify's. A bundle of one product now saves if its quantity is 2 or more. At 1 it's still refused, because that's just the product.
Shopify's own ceiling of 2,000 units of one product per kit is now checked on the form too. In the bundles list, the Components column shows the unit total when it's different, for example 1 · 5 units.
17 September 2026
Remove bundle. It's on the edit screen and asks you to confirm first. The bundle leaves the app and its health checks stop. Its product in Shopify is set to Draft, so shoppers can't buy it. Nothing is deleted. Before this there was no way to take a bundle out of the app at all.
If you delete a bundle's product in Shopify yourself, the app now removes the bundle too, instead of marking it FAILED.
15 September 2026
Fixed: saving again made a second bundle. When a save created the product and a later step failed, the error told you to save again. Saving again created a second bundle and a second product. That happened to one store on 13 September. A retry now updates the bundle that was already made.
14 September 2026
Fixed: bundle stock stopped updating between 9 and 14 September. On 9 September the app moved to a newer version of Shopify's API. From then on, Shopify rejected every write of a bundle's stock number. The bundle's stock number froze while its components' stock kept moving. One store showed 175 kits available against 87 it could actually pack, for five days. The same fault made new bundle saves end in an error.
It's fixed. Three changes on 10 September didn't clear it on their own. They're all still in, and you'll notice one of them. When the six-hourly check finds a bundle's stock number wrong, it now rewrites it instead of only reporting it. Each of those repairs leaves a record. If you write about a bundle, I can see every time its stock number was rewritten and whether Shopify accepted it.
Two checks that reported the wrong thing. The price check builds a test cart with the bundle in it. When Shopify quietly dropped the bundle from that cart, the check read the empty cart's total of 0 as a wrong price. That now shows as Not checked. The visibility check used to pass any bundle published to any sales channel. It now checks that the bundle has a page in your online store, which is where shoppers find it. If you sell a bundle only through another channel, this check now shows FAILED for it. Until 27 September it also failed every bundle in a store still behind its password page (see the entry above).

Prices in your store's currency. Since the first release, every amount on three screens had a $ in front of it. Those were the bundle form, the bundles list and the Suggestions page. All three stores using the app at the time sold in another currency, so each of them got the wrong currency sign. Amounts on those screens now use your store's currency sign and format, with no decimals for the yen. The price field still takes two decimals, so a price in a three-decimal currency like the Kuwaiti dinar can't carry its third.
A warning when the bundle costs more than its parts. The form already showed what the components add up to, but said nothing when your price was higher. Now a warning shows both amounts. Shoppers can see it's cheaper to buy the items separately, and the app leaves the compare-at price off the product in that case.
8 September 2026
The health check stopped reporting faults that didn't happen. There were two causes. When Shopify rate-limited the check, it was recorded as a price failure. It now retries, and if Shopify still won't answer, the bundle shows Not checked instead of FAILED.
The stock check compared the kits at your chosen locations with the product's total across all locations. That could keep a bundle marked FAILED for good over a difference in how the two were counted. It now compares the same locations on both sides.

The app's web address sends you back to your store. Opening solid-bundles.fly.dev directly used to show an unfinished placeholder page. Its only button started Shopify's install flow, which looks exactly like being asked to install again. One merchant hit that and left. A browser that has used the app before usually goes straight to the app inside your store's admin. One that blocks third-party cookies, or hasn't used the app, gets a short page with a store address field that does the same. Nothing on it starts an install.

Fixed: the Getting started card pointed to a setting that doesn't exist. From 29 August, it told you to turn on an app embed in your theme. Solid Bundles has no app embed and nothing to turn on in a theme. The card's theme line now says what's true. Each bundle is a real product in your catalog, and at checkout it splits into its components so stock comes off each one.

A first screen that says what to do. With no bundles yet, the dashboard leads with one card, Get started. It has three numbered steps and one main button, Create your first bundle. The row of zeros waits until you have a bundle, the duplicate empty card is gone, and the other buttons stay plain links until then. Once you have a bundle, a Getting started card stays at the top of the dashboard with a link to the walkthrough video. That card went live on 29 August.
The main button also said Create your first bundle to merchants who already had bundles. It doesn't anymore.
27 August 2026
Fixed: the Create bundle screen crashed. Opening Create bundle, or editing any bundle, showed a bare Application Error page instead of the form. It was broken from at least 28 July, so for about a month the form didn't open for anyone. The cause was one piece of on-screen text the page never loaded. That was my mistake, and it was the first button a new merchant clicks.
3 August 2026
The Free plan went from 2 to 5 active bundles. The paid plans didn't change.
28 July 2026
A Cancel subscription button on paid plans, with one sentence explaining it: to cancel, choose the Free plan, and you aren't charged again. By this date the app's screens were also in 11 languages.

First release. Each bundle is a real Shopify product with its own page, price and stock number. Stock is counted per location, in complete kits only. At checkout the bundle splits into its components. When one of the locations you picked for that bundle can pack the whole order, the app moves the order there. A health check runs every six hours. On the paid plans, the Suggestions page reads your orders for products bought together. Gift cards are refused as components. The Free plan allowed 2 active bundles.
Plans today
- Free: up to 5 active bundles.
- Growth, $12.90 a month: up to 20 active bundles, plus Suggestions.
- Unlimited, $29.90 a month: no limit, plus Suggestions.
Both paid plans have a 7-day free trial.
What removing it leaves behind
The app never deletes a Shopify product. Remove bundle sets the product to Draft, and uninstalling the app leaves every bundle product in your catalog as it was. Once the app is gone, a bundle product no longer splits into its components at checkout. It's set to keep selling when out of stock, so shoppers can still buy it at any stock level. Archive or delete those products yourself if you don't want them on sale.

Solid Bundles is a Shopify app that sells a kit as one real product with stock counted per location, for merchants who ship sets from more than one place.
